First Float Trip of the Year

We asked Brady what he would like to do and it wasn't hard to please him.  First on the list was a float trip.

We saw pelicans and moose and many birds, but these are the only pictures I took.

Brady's Impromptu Visit!

Brady called about a week ago to say he had a few days off and wanted to drop in for a visit.  So he flew into Jackson Hole, where we picked him up, and he will fly out on Wednesday the 19th from Salt Lake City, as we have to head home for 2 weeks.  We went to church first, then headed off to Jackson.  On the way we stopped at this field of flowers we had seen on another trip.

Here are some pictures of what we saw that day.

Brian's Birthday

We celebrated Brian's birthday today.  First, we went to dinner at the Bar N Ranch. It was quite an adventure just getting there.  We had to dodge the free range cows.

Once we got there, we found a wine room with animals all over it. The decor was pretty cool everywhere.

The company wasn't bad either.

But the food was Am.Aze.Ing.  Really.  Delicious!  If only I knew how to cook this way!

Sarah's
After dinner Sarah and I needed to use the little girls' room.  The sinks were so cool!

After dinner and the stop in the bathroom, we headed to West to see Fiddler on the Roof at the Playmill Theater.

What a surprise we got when we got inside.  The actor who seated us looked awfully familiar....

He turned out to be the son of some friends that moved away from Providence when Sarah was 5 years old.  Two of his younger sisters were there with him, one working in the plays also, and one working as a housekeeper for some of the hotels.  That one happened to be Sarah's long lost friend, Laura!  What a fun reunion it was.

Here are some of the players with Sarah and Laura.  They are Jacob, Camilla, Max, Sarah, and Laura.  Sarah and Max have been friends since Cache Children's Choir years ago, so look how many friends we reunited with that night.

Fiddler on the Roof was wonderful!
The play was excellent also, by the way.

Meet Dr. Motes

I left Logan 2 weeks ago with a case of strep throat, or so we thought.  Prescriptions included an antibiotic and cough syrup.  I have only gotten worse so a visit to the local doc was in order.

I found Dr. Motes to be very nice and kindly.  He is a retired surgeon from west Texas.  Kelsey took Jackson to him last year and liked him, too.  I wish I had gotten a picture of him.

He diagnosed me with acute asthmatic broncitis and put me on steroids, doxycyclin, and an albuterol inhaler. I am getting better but something is giving me severe heartburn, in the meantime. Who'da thunk and old person could contract asthma?

(Not sure about the date on the sign...)

Lone Swan on the River

Today we noticed this lone swan swimming in the river in front of the cabin, all by itself.  I wonder where his or her mate was, since I hear they mate for life.

New Windows means no more Mullions. Hooray!

Brian changed out the big upstairs windows during a trip up this spring.  Today we are changing out some of the downstairs windows so that there are no more mullions in the way and see how the windows disappear and the river appears so nicely?

Can you see the river?

Spring Flowers

I took these pictures of the dew this morning on the flowers that are so abundant this year outside the cabin.

Walk Along the River Today

Here is what we saw on our walk along the river.

A Great Blue Heron

A pair of young deer.
This adorable little blue bird, who posed nicely for a lot of pictures.
And this pair of unusual ducks.  If someone out there knows the names of these ducks or the blue bird, please advise.  And I don't mean Tom, Dick, or Harry.
